Pre-Sales Engineer -Federal IT Solutions
Our trusted client is a mission-focused IT consulting group and a trusted Federal Value-Added Reseller. They specialize in delivering tailored, innovative cybersecurity and IT solutions that unify diverse technologies to strengthen national defense and empower their clients’ missions. Their expertise spans modern SOC and DevSecOps, Zero Trust, Big Data Architecture, Kubernetes strategy, adaptive IT infrastructure, secure software development and Secure Sovereign AI solutions. This is a remote position preferably based in the DC Metro area (occasional local/regional travel). An active DoD Secret or Top Secret is highly preferred
Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Presales Engineer to join our clients growing team. This individual will serve as a technical advisor and solutions architect during the sales process, working closely with their federal clients in the DOD sector and strategic technology partners. The Presales Engineer will translate customer needs into tailored IT and cybersecurity solutions, ensuring alignment with mission objectives while showcasing the value of their offerings.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with sales teams to develop technical strategies that support federal client requirements.
Lead technical discussions, solution demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts for prospective clients.
Design and architect solutions across areas including Zero Trust, DevSecOps, SOC modernization, Kubernetes security, adaptive infrastructure and Secure Sovereign AI solutions.
Develop proposals, solution diagrams, and technical documentation that clearly communicate business value.
Build strong relationships with client stakeholders, serving as a trusted technical advisor.
Collaborate with leading technology partners (e.g., F5, Rancher Government Solutions, Palo Alto, Nutanix, GitLab, HashiCorp) to create best-of-breed solutions.
Stay current on emerging technologies, federal cybersecurity mandates, and compliance frameworks.
Learn their Partner portfolio seeking expertise level in certain OEMs
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of experience in a technical presales, solutions engineering, or consulting role.
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure technologies.
Experience working with DOD federal agencies or in regulated environments strongly preferred.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Kubernetes, or vendor-specific credentials (Palo Alto, Nutanix, GitLab, etc.) a plus.
AWS, Azure and cloud experience
Active Secret clearance strongly preferred
